Job Title: Event Coordinator

Job Overview:
Sport Oregon is looking for a passionate, detail-obsessed Events Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for the planning, execution, and evaluation of all Sport Oregon events — flagship fundraisers, community celebrations, internal events and everything in between — in service of growing the Sport Oregon brand and deepening our community impact. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, takes pride in flawless execution, and is energized by wearing many hats. You'll work closely with partners, sponsors, volunteers, and community members, and you'll be given the tools and mentorship to grow into a well-rounded events professional.
Job Duties:
Lead end-to-end planning and execution of all external and internal Sport Oregon events, including our Big Swing golf tournament, Oregon Sports Awards, board meetings, and membership events
Lead Sport Oregon Foundation events and She Flies/Play Oregon initiative events, including the annual Fuel the Future fundraising gala and the National Girls & Women in Sports Day Celebration
Own event operations from concept to close-out — including logistics, programming, partner relations, sponsor fulfillment, and vendor management
Recruit, schedule, and lead volunteer teams on-site at events, building and maintaining strong relationships across the Sport Oregon community
Manage event support contractors and coordinate with internal team members to ensure seamless event delivery
Manage event inventory and warehouse organization
Manage and facilitate the She Flies Community Grant cycle, including strategic planning, procedural support, outreach, and impact assessment
Collaborate with marketing on event messaging and communications planning
Staff all Sport Oregon events, including evening and weekend commitments
Job Qualifications:
1–3 years of experience in event coordination, marketing, or a related field — we will consider strong recent graduates with demonstrated experience
Passion for sports, community, and the mission of Sport Oregon
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills — this is non-negotiable
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive under pressure
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience or familiarity with event platforms such as Eventbrite and Greater Giving
Experience with project management tools, including Notion/Asana
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and select holidays
Entrepreneurial spirit and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Team player — we are a small, agile team, and everyone carries weight
Experience in the sports and/or nonprofit industries preferred but not required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
What We Offer:
Compensation: $50,000 – $60,000 depending on experience
